The 600 mm high-power graphite electrode is engineered specifically for large-scale electric arc furnaces (EAF) and submerged arc furnaces (SAF). It delivers outstanding electrical conductivity, oxidation resistance, and thermal stability, making it a reliable and efficient choice for extreme high-temperature metallurgy.
This 600 mm HP graphite electrode is a large-diameter, high-performance carbon material designed for ultra-high-power metallurgical operations. It is widely used in stainless steel refining, ferroalloy smelting, and other demanding environments that require sustained high current and temperature stability.

● Material Composition:
①75% premium petroleum-based needle coke (sourced from Japan, USA, or Korea)
②25% coal-tar pitch coke for optimized cost-performance balance
③High-softening-point modified coal-tar pitch binder with superior carbon yield and impregnation behavior
● Forming Technology:
Extrusion or isostatic pressing under high tonnage ensures dense, isotropic structure with minimal internal defects.
● Graphitization:
Conducted in LWG (Longitudinal Graphitization Furnace) or Acheson furnaces (inner diameter ≥2.2 m) at ≥3000°C to achieve consistent crystalline alignment and enhanced thermal/electrical properties.
Impregnation & Re-baking:
Multiple vacuum pressure impregnation and secondary baking processes dramatically reduce open porosity and increase oxidation resistance.
600 mm HP graphite electrodes are commonly used in:
● ≥300-ton Ultra-High-Power Electric Arc Furnaces (UHP EAF) for steelmaking (carbon steel, stainless steel)
● Large-scale Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) for ferroalloys such as FeMn, SiMn, FeCr
● Non-ferrous metallurgy requiring excellent thermal conductivity and heat stability
● Continuous casting and long-arc-duration operations in smart steelmaking environments
● Moisture Protection: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area to avoid thermal cracking and oxidation.
● Storage Temperature: Maintain at 25 °C ± 5 °C for optimal condition.
● Packaging: Heavy-duty wooden crates with waterproof inner liners and shock-absorbing pads.
● Lifting & Handling: Only use soft lifting straps or dedicated slings; do not allow metal chains or forks to contact threads or the electrode surface.
● Exceptional arc stability and anti-fracture performance under extreme heat loads
● Low porosity structure enhances oxidation resistance and service life
● Low electrode consumption rate (1.7–2.2 kg per ton of steel under optimized conditions)
● Precision-fit HP nipple ensures secure electrical connectivity with minimal resistance
● Compatible with automatic clamping and intelligent steelmaking systems
